A Moment in History
UX/UI
Project Overview
This design project aims to transport users back to the revolutionary invention of electricity. This experience is crafted to showcase the profound impact of electricity on society, culture, and technology. The navigation of this design was created to seamlessly move the user from page to page, and take this complicated moment in history to a simple story.

Design Process
Starting my first ever UX/UI project, I felt like I had stepped into a new world. Going through the design process, I was able to learn a lot. For this project, I initially envisioned an old newspaper theme, reflected in the typeface choice, images, and colors. As the design evolved, I aimed to balance the historical feel and a more modern user experience. I refined visual elements and layout, which helped bring the end result of a historical inspired design with a more refined feel.

Home Page
In the overall design of the website, I aimed to maintain a black and white aesthetic, which evokes a historical feel. To bring in an unmistakable "electrical" feeling throughout the pages, I incorporated pops of yellow in various elements. The homepage features an engaging image carousel at the top, and the end transitions into an introduction and intriguing fun facts.

Timeline
This page of the website serves as the focal point that draws visitors in. They're visiting the website to learn more about the invention of electricity. It adheres to the overarching theme of an old newspaper aesthetic as well and traces the evolution of electricity through historical events. The absence of yellow, unlike in other pages, contributes to a refined and simplified design, allowing users to scroll through the narrative without distractions.
