RETRO FITNESS
APP REDESIGN

UX/UI

Project Overview

This UX/UI project centered on a complete redesign of the Retro Fitness mobile app, aiming to enhance user experience and streamline functionality. Recognizing the app's potential to be a powerful tool for gym members, I embarked on a comprehensive process that began with in-depth research and planning, followed by a user-centered design approach. The ultimate goal was to create an intuitive and visually appealing app that empowers users to easily track their fitness journey and engage with the Retro Fitness community.

Planning & Research

This UX/UI project involved a comprehensive redesign of the Retro Fitness app. Before diving into the design phase, I dedicated significant time to research and planning, recognizing the importance of a solid foundation for a successful redesign. My initial research focused on understanding Retro Fitness as a brand, exploring their values, target audience, and overall market presence. I also conducted a thorough analysis of the existing Retro Fitness app, identifying its strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. This included user reviews and competitive analysis of other fitness apps. Planning was then crucial. I mapped out the user flows, information architecture, and overall structure of the redesigned app. This process revealed the surprisingly extensive number of pages and features within the app, highlighting the scope and complexity of the project. This in-depth planning phase was essential for organizing the app's content logically and ensuring a user-friendly experience.

DESIGN PROCESS

The design process for the Retro Fitness app redesign was driven by a commitment to creating a clean, intuitive, and user-friendly experience. While maintaining the brand's existing color palette for consistency, I opted for a rounded, modern aesthetic to enhance the app's visual appeal and create a more approachable feel. A primary focus of the redesign was to improve the app's navigation and information architecture. Recognizing that the current app presented challenges in locating specific features, I prioritized clear and logical organization. My goal was to create an app so intuitive that users wouldn't have to think about where to find what they need. Every design decision, from the placement of buttons and icons to the layout of information on each screen, was made with a clear connection to user experience. I aimed to streamline the user journey, ensuring that every interaction is seamless and effortless, allowing users to focus on their fitness goals rather than struggling with the app itself.
